Hi Programmers,

First let me say that the only experience I have in any type of programming is I used to program a Ti-89 calculator back in colledge algebra---and I think that is visual basic.

I am not taking a C++ class first semester and wanted to learn Ninjascript which is C# language. we went through functions, classes, do loops, for loops and while loops as well as a bunch of other things.

I recently went over code from some of the ninjascripts on here and see how they repeat themselves. Is there any step by step tutorial writing a basic indicator line by line?

What is the best way to go about learning Ninjascript? I got some C# tutorials from VTC.com ----although I already tried their C++ tutorial and have to say I am not impressed. I can get better how to tutorials from you tube on C++.

I know that the most important thing in programming is probably the "learn by doing" thing rather than reading tons of textbook type stuff. right now, I dont really know where to start.

Is there anything wether video or textbook tutorial for Ninjascript? When you guys write ninjascript, do you start in microsoft environment or ninjatrader?

basically, I want to be able to say when this indicator does this and this other indicator does that and price is within x amount of ticks from this line, print out a long arrow or short arrow.

For right now, I really need to some training wheels in terms of arrows to help me recognize my own setups in real time because focus is very important.
I also want to add a .wav file for an alert.

maybe somebody has some ninjascript with some arrows as an example

thanks
Spencer

spinny, check the "sticky" posts at the top of this forum... especially "Coding Tips and Tricks" and "Useful Links".

Although you will encounter some errors in the text, there are 4 or 5 tutorials in the NinjaTrader User Manual that will get you started.
