I'm sim trading in NT and using my existing Ameritrade data feed. Every once in a while I get these outrageous price spikes. I just got one while trading SPY. It was trading at about 133.80 when all of a sudden in the blink of an eye price touched 135.36! Fortunately I'm long so I wasn't stopped out but I have been stopped out on a couple of occasions due to these anomalies. When I'm trading with real money using my Lightspeed platform I don't seem to have these problems because I have selected an option to "correct for spikes"

Does anyone know what the cause of these spikes is? Does anyone know if NT can "correct for spikes"?

My guess is it is the result of being in SIM.

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

These are bad ticks from your data provider. In Ninjatrader, use Tools > Options > Data > Filter bad ticks.

I've actually gotten these both in NT and in StrategyDesk. Both were using Ameritrade's data feed. In StrategyDesk I was not trading in SIM. Regardless, it is a nuisance.

Ok thanks a lot, I'll try that. Guess this is one more reason for me to stay away from Ameritrade in general but it's nice to know NT can help resolve it.
Thx again!
