Watched Ip Man 1-2 this week and some Bruce lee stuff for some motivation
(If you haven't seen the two part movie it is the story of the baddest dude on the planet , he ended up teaching Bruce lee, but his story is inspiring to say the least)
Had a couple of good work outs especially today
60 free lessons Wing Chun - good stuff
I feel like it's one of the best exercises I have come across yet for me personally , starting slow but feel great
If some of you guys are full time traders and spend the majority of your time in front of screen like me........
You guys should consider taking some sort of MMA class. If you want something a bit gentler due to age and all, a good jiu-jitsu school would be great as well. Basically any type of combative sport. I mention the two as it's the only two combative activities I've personally done.
It's an amazing workout, and will always give you something to work towards. It's a good way to socialize a bit and break up the monotony. You also learn a valuable skill. To me most importantly, it is FUN! For that reason, it never feels like work or exercise.
I've seen overweight, out of shape, older guys make no other changes in lifestyle or diet come in, and a few months later they look like a completely different person. Statistically most people quit, but those that enjoy it enough to stick around usually can't get enough of it.
One thing I am worried about is deep vein trombosis, blood clot that may develop in the legs from sitting too long, but then again I suppose any office worker would be subject to that as well. So, I make it a point to get up and walk around every half hour or so.
I've also been noticing a change in my vision, so when I get up to walk around, That also gives me a chance to do some eye exercises by changing their focus length that have been fixed for and extended period of time to the distance to the monitors.
I do those too. Also with my eyes shut, I press them for a few seconds with my palms.
I do these rotational things too.... like look forward, look at 3'oclock, look back forward, look down 6'oclock, then back center, look left at 9oclock, then center, then look up 12oclock, then back center.... and on and on for a few rotations.

Just because you have a desk job doesn't mean you need to get out of shape.
Do 50 burpees for time every other day and you will get in shape pretty fast. Will take 10 minutes and go down from there.
If you don't want to at least do that then at least admit to yourself that it is because you are lazy and it has nothing at all to do with trading or whatever job you do.
Some people do more in a day than many people do in a week, which leaves them mentally drained, laziness isn't always the case, setting priorities is
I think it is important to make the time and include some form of exercise or physical activities in life , which in turn provides the energy and strength to do so.
Don't have a scale but my guess would be that I've lost 10 pounds or so, exercise is now a part of pre-trading checklist for me
Also picked up a semi-used but in perfect condition NordicTrac bike for $150 from a 2nd hand store
My goal is to get to the point where I can start rollerblading again, which is something I used to do daily
