At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, can someone please explain what the number means in a range bar setting? I.E., if I set my bars to 6 range, what does the 6 represent? How is this different from a setting using tick counts?

Thanks!!

6 ticks bar would be built from 6 trades
6 range bar can be built from many trades, but high minus low must be equal to 6 ticks
