I'm at a crossroads... and the subject line says it all. Will Visual Studio Pro 2008 help with the coding process and workflow for coding Ninja indictors and strategies? I have a separate need for C++ to follow course work. Is VS the solution?

Let me add that I'm going through a Rumsfield moment. Known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. C# and C++ are known unknowns, and I'm wondering if VS Studio is the right path to making it a known knowns. It is something I have to learn to point where I know what I dont know, and can decide to outsource as needed. Clear?
If you want to know if VS will help you with Ninjascript.
The answer is yes and no.
Yes you can write script and have a lot more flexibility by using VS.
Will it make it easier? No.
The NT built-in editor will do most things for the casual programmer.
If you want to do advanced stuff I would get VS. It puts the entire C# library at your disposal.
There is a free version (Express). It has some issues with connecting to NT but there are work-a-rounds. The full version of VS will connect to NT easily.
So if you are going to get it, I would get the full version.
It sounds like you may be in a university. If so, there is a FREE FULL version for students.
It is available from microsoft in the dreamspark program. If you know of a student with and ID and/or .edu email address you can download it for free.
