Hey Bmt crowd,

I am somewhat new to trading and I was just curious what economic news sites or calenders are the best for intra-day trading futures. I typically try to avoid the news but I ran into a problem today with a trade in the midst of Obama talking about the debt ceiling. I've run into other problems during the Greek debt crisis news releases. I typically have a hard time finding the news until someone writes an article on it a couple hours later. Normally I just use an economic calender like Economic Calendar

Anyone have any suggestions for finding the latest and fastest information that might effect the market?

Thank you

If you want to pay a hundred bucks a month "trade the news" is great. If you want free info there is not really a best site out there...a lot of them are good but what I do is surf around a bunch of different places to see whats going on. You could also turn on CNBS or bloomberg type of thing.
.
P.S. If you want to ask a general question use the question box on the home page
You might also try the calendar over at ForexFactory...it's better than the one you posted

You can also use a news source like Ransquawk for free although it is delayed by 2 minutes. It is like a ticker type news ie new headlines being added continuously.

Nothing beats Twitter for breaking news. Of course, you have to choose the right sources. Check out Stocktwits for some good sources.

Guys with respect to news feed the one that seems to me to be the absolute best value is a ransquack product called talking forex. A link to that website: Talking Forex - First for FX News

The foreign exchange product is spot on. I ran this against trade the news and found that talking forex was faster and had greater breadth and depth for a fraction of the cost. I pay 20 pounds a month for the product and find it to be very valuable as it has saved or made many times its annual cost each week.

There are other products that might serve other markets but a trial on talking forex is $1.65. Now I realize that I was blind without this type of feed...I won't screen trade without it. DB
