Hi,
Can someone please help me with how to program a multi timeframe indicator in Easylanguage. specifically, I want to take a larger chart and display an indicator on that onto a smaller chart. For eg, a 20-EMA on 10-tick Range chart displayed on 5-tick range chart.
I'd greatly appreciate some example code, if possible.
Many thanks in advance.

First you need to set up 2 data series on a chart. The base data series should be the one you want to view, ie 5 tick range chart in your case. You can make the second data series invisible in the Style tab of the Format Instrument dialog box of the second data series ( 10 tick range bar in your case ). Then use the following code. Data1 in the code is your 5 tick range bar and Data2 in the code is your 10 tick range bar. The following example plots the 20 bar EMA of the 5 tick range bar and the 10 tick range bar on the 5 tick range bar chart.
sorry messed up on my post accidentally Here we go.

hi chisound, thanks for your reply. I did try that but Range/Renko charts are not supported in multi-series charting. I think this may have to be done programmatically using pushpop.dll or global variables etc, but I'm not very comfortable with that and would need some help. thanks again
I use Range charts myself with multiple data series with no problems. When i say "Range Chart" what I mean is I set the Instrument chart type to Regular and the Resolution to x Point to set it to a Range Chart. That works really well. I have verified values for multiple data series and they are correct.
chisound, thanks for your reply. i'm afraid i'm not able to follow you. could you pls post a screenshot of your settings ? I cant seem to do what you've outlined in your post. thanks in advance....
