I was wondering if it is at all possible to have a strategy in which we can also have the type of a chart that we want the strategy to work of of. This way, the strategy can run on any chart that a person wants. However, the actual strategy outputs (or signals) will be based on the chart type that is already programmed into the strategy itself and will be independant of the type of a chart that is open on the screen.

I am not a programmer, so please excuse me if the question is way out of proportion.

Thanks for the input.

Hi Max,

What I mean is this: Let's say you are looking at a 5 min. chart. I then give you a strategy that I have come up with. However, this strategy only works on let's say range charts. So, I want to know if it is possible to have the strategy to only work of of the range chart, even if you use the strategy on your 5 min. chart. In othr words, your 5 min. chart should have no effect on the strategy.

I hope I make myself clear!

yeah - got it -
with "type of a chart" you mean the the timeframes !

basicly that is possbile because you can code strategys with multitimeframe-function.
so you can "fix" your tf (timeframe) in the strategy.

but this is a bit advanced coding. i dont know if its possible in the wizzard.
