Cunparis and Papa14,

You guys are my heroes !! Good work on the ORB. I guess the check is in the mail?

Just remember it doesn't always work......just most of the time. This is why it is important to minimize your losses when it doesn't work and maximize your profit when it does.

Jeff
When I find something that always works, this will be the first place I post it....promise.....but that something is right beside the fountain of youth.

Hey Papa14,

I was wondering if you could share the details of your 6e ORB set up?

Thanks, Jeff

I use your breakout method with a 5 min candle chart with the Virtual Bars on it.....currently I scalp it for 4-6 ticks with a 8 or 9 tick stop loss. I use the 8:30 to 9 am time period, just like the CL you do. Therefore, I can be in 2 trades simultaneously. The TransAct AT platform makes this easier, since I only have 2 DOMs open. Hopefully, NT will fix this limitation with the next release (won't everything be lovely with that new release). Mirus' commissions are less than what I am currently paying but with AT, I get stop loss protection and an automatic daily stop loss limit for the account (so sort of double protection).

It does seem a bit strange to me that this particuliar time period should have any significance for 6e. Perhaps it's just moving in step with CL?

If I modify my ThinkorSwim charts to show market hours only, the 6E starts at 0820 EST (must be pit open). I have been watching this for several months and found that I could scalp the breakout from 0820-0900. When I found your site here, I started watching CL as well. Then I just married the two. Not sure there is any correlation and hopefully there isn't. Obviously I want both trades to succeed, but if not, hopefully at least one is successful and will mitigate the loss from the loser. So far, so good.

Once enough experience is built up, then will apply a different target scheme (expanded targets, breakeven stops, trailing stops, etc). But for now, KISS. Build patience and experience (and the account). I move about as fast as a turtle....

Hey Jeff,
Thanks for posting your template in post 2025. I had to get the Zeller sharkfin from the download section to complete the templete. Could you tell me how you show just the red and blue dots on your chart without the red and yellow lines?

Thanks,
Vic

I have personally better results with waiting for the 15 min bar than the Crabel market open trades for first 5-15 min.

I have -- like someone else-- talked with some people who use Crabel and this trade quite successfully and exclusively. Thank you for the pdf file, tho. Very helpful.
