Ahem, they are forgetting a little thing called plate tectonics. Mecca may happen to be where it is right now, but it wasn't always so and it won't always be. For example, New York state and England were once connected as part of the same land mass. Not so much anymore.

There is a lot more to the Golden Ratio than this.

However, just as with traders using the Fibs, too much is made of it as if it is the Holy Grail.
The Golden Ratio/Fibs are just the way nature was designed by an intelligent creator.
All things follow this mater plan of creation.

Trying to say that Islam has a corner on the Golden Ratio is almost funny.
That 1.618 distance from the North Pole just happens to go completely around the earth (not just through Mecca).
Also, who says that the starting point is the North Pole?
What if it were the South Pole?
Or the Equator or multiple points on the globe.
An alternate theory is that the Golden Ratio of the earth is Rio de Janeiro

Also the earth has a tilt or approx 23.5 degrees...
So maybe the center of that axis and not the North Pole should be the starting point???
And who determines which axis is the starting point?

Just as with trading, Fibs and Golden Ratios are significant but finding the correct starting point has always been a challenge.
