We're definitely disadvantaged by the latency. Our orders and exits are greatly affected!
I'm connected on M1 Fibre Optic 100mbps now, the ping is at 250 ms to Chicago. Not much of an improvement over the cable. I can be contacted at +6591453928.

hey, am from singapore too
i guess it wont help even switch to fibre connection as most of the delay elements are outside Singapore...
it certainly affects the speed of DOM, T&S and order execution, but so far, i've been trading for 2-3 years, no big issue yet. btw, i scalp treasuries based on DOM & T&S, sometime trade is within few seconds.
Hey Soon,
Welcome to futures.io (formerly BMT).
I'm trading from Singapore on M1 Fibre 100 mbps too. I'm trading full time on CL and TF. mainly scalping.
Wish you can call me on 91453928 to share your trading strategies and experience.
Good Trading.

You get 30ms, I get 300ms - a third of a second... it's not going to make a lot of difference really.
I occasionally trade from LA with low latency but you can't tell the difference.
In terms of cost - to get that latency down to 50ms from Bangkok, you need to bypass all the hops on the way to Chicago. It doesn't matter what sort of line you get to your ISP 'cause the latency isn't there anyway.
I know one guy that did that - but he was trading over US$30M. He was paying US$18k a month for the network.
hey, i went to your website before though i dont use NT, but nice one
never knew that you are trading from bangkok :O been there few times, nice place
yep, were in CA before, latency was lower down to 30-50ms, but cant really tell the difference.
LOL! We did have a visitor to the site once... nice to meet you...
I like Singapore for a break - I usually stay at Orchard Parade, not for the Towers - but for the Irish pub. I used to have an office in Boat Quay there but moved it to Science Park 2 not long ago.
Anyway - I'm not sure why people think being 270ms behind will make a big difference to a position day trader. It's a quarter of a second or to put it another way - much less time than it takes to reach for your mouse...
We should have a Singapore/BKK traders meet up - would be fun...
