Hi everybody, i am new to multicharts but giving it a go. Up to now I have managed to get an EOD data feed hooked up , written a few basic strategies with profit and stop loss etc. I have also converted the strategies into indicators. The strategy I am practicing with involves inside bars , when i use the indicator on a chart with historical data it flags the inside bars and gives me the alert i programmed, this is fine whilst i have the chart open. What i wanted was to be able to load a high number of symbols into the market screener and then load the indicator, when an inside bar forms i wanted an alert to show. Now when i put the standard IB indicator on the screener it just gives me the value of the last IB. I am stuck in Afghanistan for another 4 months so cant get realtime data.
Is what i am asking even possible ? am i over thinking things ? i was starting out on daily bars so could really use a stock screener at night but wanted to try out lower timeframes .
Sorry its such a long post just wanted to try and get across what I was after.

I'd have guessed that Alerts only work off a chart, so you'd need to have the chart running.
But the wiki page says that alerts should work..

Seems to me most scanners are better run in the data providers cloud, since most data providers limit the number of symbols loaded and streamed in some way, and in order to run the scanner locally you would have to load the data first.
