Are you a junkie trader?

How often do you sleep? Are you afraid of missing the move?
I think I was junkie trader - or maybe I still am.

In the past, on many occasions I went for 48-60 hours straight, endlessly staring at the bars ...falling asleep at the front of the monitor... guilty that if I go to sleep I will miss the move -- definitely I was.

Are you?

I usually trade 4am CST to 10 am CST and I leave at the first opportunity to do anything fun, especially with the kids.

Definitely not. Lots of work is involved, but most of it does not involve staring at charts.

Used to be when I first started trading. I used to watch the markets from 7am to 8PM. Then study charts until midnight or later. However, never fell alseep in front of the monitor. Now I keep tabs on the markets during the day while at my day job and spend a few hours a night on learning and watching the markets and of course posting on NexusFi (formerly BMT).

If you trade badly ... the worst thing you can do is stay in front of the computer.

Staring at the screen 24/7 will not make you a good trader.

You can put your boots in the oven ... that don't make 'em biscuits ...

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"

Yes 5 to 11 -- This is my plan when I quit my day job (or get fired)

That's exactly what happened with me a year ago
and then I started learning

anything can be used and/or abused. there's a lot in trading and risk taking that can be thrilling. bungee jumping, fast driving, etc. I felt the risk rush from trading, but it was more painful than a high. Combine that with inevitable loss from not following a logical trading plan and the pain is too big for me. Yes I pulled many all-nighters, my trading performance suffered tho. It took me a long time to work it out.
