it is truly impressive how helpful bigmike's forum members are to each other! i've not posted here before, but have read many of the posts and the replies and have always been blown away by the high level of knowledge many of the forum members have, and.... their willingness to share that knowledge .... not only about trading but also about developing and creating indicators!

i have searched this forum and the ninja forum for an indicator, but have never seen the one i'm looking for. it's an indicator that will print a vertical line in a lower panel of a chart, a line that is aligned with and follows the price bars as they move horizontally across the chart. does anyone know of such a feature or indicator?

it seems like having such an indicator would make aligning the price bar with a lower panel indicator's position virtually 'automatic'. it would eliminate using the curser to pin point the relationship between a price bar and a lower panel indicator's exact position.

if you know of such an indicator or how to accomplish the goal, i'd appreciate any suggestions/assistance.

many thanks in advance........

bruce

If you don't use the cursor, how would you know, to which of the upper bars the lower panel position shall be aligned?

that's a great question.......

my intention is not to stop using a curser, but to have the indicator print a fine vertical line in the lower panels only. this vertical line would print only on the current price bar and then as a new price bar formed it would move and align with it......

however, as i am explaining this, i'm less certain of its value. originally i was thinking if i had 2 or 3 indicator lower panels on a chart, it would be a added visual aid to have a fine vertical line running through the lower panels that was aligned with the current price bar.......i thought it may help in more clearly identifying the precise behavior of the lower panel indicators at that moment.

The current price bar usually is the last bar on the chart (COBC = false) or the second but the last bar on the chart (COBC = true), and the indicator values belonging to that bar are the last indicator values plotted...

... unless you use the cursor to select a different current bar.
