Dice are good . Why go against the trend ?

for short term/scalping, like those retraces when it chops, say in downtrend, it retraces higher before it continues downtrend. may be, I should call something else, not counter trend

yes, I like what Cory said,

try using Bollinger bands with double tops / bottoms where the first swing high/low is outside the band and the second is inside the band.

target would be back to the middle sma - (or just above just in case)
