Hello everyone,

I need some help / advice here please:

I have been working out my transition from NT to SC for the last 10 days now.

By now and after much work I already have SC working and almost set up but there are two things that I can't find how to do them in any way:

1- I canīt find a way to configure the "Daily OHLC" indicator to show the previous day RTH High and Low in a 24 hours session chart (Globex).

2- I canīt also find a way to set a simple condition alert (=ID1.SG1>10) to just set off again after a certain time (30 seconds, for example), instead of the options offered in the Alerts Window.

I must say that as I am a complete ignorant in what concerns to programming I am just hardly capable of use the integrated SC indicators to do what I need.

I would much appreciate some help / advice with this, please.

Thanks.

Rui

1) One way is to add an RTH chart to your chartbook, apply the Daily OHLC study,
then add the Study/Price Overlay study to your 24hr chart, set Fill Blanks With Last Value to Yes, and set the Study to Overlay to the RTH chart and Daily OHLC. To turn off lines you don't want, set the Draw Styles to Do Not Draw in the Daily OHLC study on the RTH chart.

2) A couple of ways to do this come to mind, but without knowing your chartbook setup, the easiest might be to add a 30sec chart, apply (or overlay) the indicator that triggers the alert, and check Reset Alert Condition on New Bar.

@tomgilb

Thank you for your response.

Regarding my first question I did as you suggested and it is working fine.
I had no idea that I could use this Study/Price Overlay indicator. Thanks.

In relation to my second question, I had already tried before what you suggested with the 30 seconds chart but it didn't work well.

I have now a Number of Trades indicator and the alert is set in a Color Bar Based On Alert Condition indicator with a very simple formula (=ID1.SG1>20), both installed in a Range in Ticks (New bar on range met) chart set to 1 Tick in order to provide a credible and real time alert. It seems to be working well now but the problem is when the speed increases and the alert sets off it keeps repeating the sound until the speed slows down again.

With NT I could set the interval time until the next alert...

With this information, would you have any idea about what I should do in order to avoid the alert to repeat unnecessarily over and over?

Thank you very much.

Rui

If an alert is triggered more frequently than it's duration, each triggered event is queued and the alert will play repeatedly until the queue is empty. You can manually clear the queue at Global Settings >> Clear Alert Sound Queue. You can check Evaluate on Bar Close, or Alert Only Once per Bar, but a 1-trade bar is quite short, so try a longer bar period. I thought you wanted a time-based interval.

Try this:
-Add a 30sec chart to your chartbook,
-Add the Study/Price Overlay study,
-Set Fill Blanks With Last Value to Yes,
-Set the Study to Overlay to the preferred chart and indicator,
-Put this on the Alerts tab of the Study/Price Overlay study: SG1>20
-Check both Reset Alert Condition On New Bar and Alert Only Once Per Bar.

I tested this and it works for me.

@tomgilb

Thank you for your reply.

I have done the way you instructed and it seems to be working very well, although it's not easy to be sure with market replay. I will test it properly tomorrow with real time data.

Your effort to help is much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Rui
