I am interested in hearing from anyone that is currently using a Radeon 6000 or 7000 series GPU for trading with a minimum of 3 and max of 4 monitors. Preferably, a 2 GB or even 3 GB version. I understand that many on this forum prefer inexpensive passive cards, but I would like to hear personal experience from anyone using (or who has used) the cards mentioned. Thank you.

6970 with 3 monitors at the moment. Works like a charm. For trading testing now I connect to a server with a 6990 as virtual workstation (and yes, it must have a graphics card - check "RemoteFx" if you do not know for what) as my computer is mainly development and some gaming. Trading happens without graphics card (non-ui framework, algorithmic).

Unless you want to play games those cards are completely overkill.

Get the quietest (passively cooled) card with the most display ports. Something like the AMD 2460.

Unless you have a cool closet a lot of fan noise and heat in the room is going to get old quick. Multiple displays add heat to a room and even laptop fans can get annoying after a while.

Do you have any driver issues, or general performance issues for non-gaming activites?
