Hey guys,

What do you guys do to clear your mind to make good rational decisions?

I personally found this browser-based online game called Goodgame Empire. Perfect for me to get focused on something totally different for a short time, to get a clear view on my trading decisions.

I think a clear mind is key to success, not just in trading but in other aspects of life as well.

- Some Deep House music
- Visualizing good (and bad) trades and me overcoming them both
- A good nights rest
- Being prepared for the market regardless of direction.. When I am extended in one direction, I am extremely nervous prior to the open

I do yoga 4 times a week. Often early morning before trading begins. It's great for assisting with discipline, mind fullness, patience...

It is not difficult for me, the most important thing is - sleep well, I do not have to sleep more than 8 hours a day, but the "Sleeping quality" is very important, if I sleep very well in 6 hours at night, I can have fresh mind in next morning and could concentrate on thinking, making any decision.

For me this is also the most important factor. After a bad night I find it better to sit out the following day, or catch back up with a good nap and see what the later session looks like.

I suggest Anapana. In short, close your eyes and focus on the touch of your breath in and out at your nostrils. Even a few minutes can make a big difference.

I was going to write about Vipassana Meditation but saw your post.

I still will write about in detail and will post a link here once I do, but Anapana is a great way to start with mindfulness.

Thanks!

Did you do a 10-day, @iqgod ?

Hi @Anagami

Yes, I am an old practitioner of the Vipassana Technique.

It literally saved my life. (I think I used this phrase elsewhere on this forum for something else I don't remember so eventually you might find me approaching a cat in terms of nine lives or so, LOL).

In 1999 I did the 10-Day course at Igatpuri and came back not just transformed but ready to face anything - and I mean anything.

Well, I had not discovered trading yet that time.
