I am a long time dabbler in investments but never too seriously until now. I had some early successes such as buying Apple at $12 and a couple disasters. I am no longer a risk taker, having had that propensity expunged via a rigorous regimen of financial floggings and public humiliations.

But now I have some serious financial goals that I want to achieve and do not want to make the mistakes from before. So, I have been devoting my non-working hours to learning, studying and studying the disciplines and methods that will keep me in the game. I have been trading on paper for the past couple months and have made some encouraging monopoly money. But I am no where near the level I want to be before I put more on the line. So, I am going to be lurking around here a bit more. Don't expect me to ask a lot of questions. I don't want to impose. But if you are a successful trader and want to shoot me an email laying out some best practices I will thank you profusely with tears of gratitude spraying forth from my cash strapped eyes. Platform is ninjatrader. Brokerage, for now, is ameritrade, and etrade for longs. After I get my sea legs it will all be moved to zenfire and IB.

I have 26 years experience building fault tolerant unix and windoze systems. If anyone needs advice on building the ultimate trading platform i would be happy to help.
