Do you know of any indicator or other device (for Ninjatrader 7 or 6.5) (or for other platforms, I will switch platform) that I can use to detect a classic reversal bar (spike up or down and close near the open) and display/sound an alert? I assume there should be ability to set a value for the bar range since range varies so much with instrument and time frame of the bars. Thanks for the help.

the pattern close near open with long wick or tail is called a doji, just use ninja pattern finder indi and select doji to look for it.

Thank you Cory. I did not know NT had the candle pattern finder. There are several names that can fit into the "reversal bar" pattern, for example hanging man, shooting star, hammer and so on. They are all reversal bar. i am not the tech kind but I will see if I can make some minor changes in the code to make it not so specific. Thanks again.
