The U2410 is an LCD. The U2412M is an LED. I prefer the LED, it is more energy efficient and produces less heat, which is important to me with six of them in a Texas office. Add to that it is less expensive, and it seems like a no brainer.
Hi, I am also thinking about purchasing new monitors for my trading. I remeber someone said to me that the sice of the monitor, or to be specific the size of the chart (expressed eg. on a notebook) can be different that what it should be and what is generally used - the cosequence then being that it can result in wrong interpretation of charts. Any comments, adivices to that?
@tomasturek: On any monitor, whether vertical or horizontal you can display charts as you like. If you are not an angle trader measuring the angles in degrees on your screen, then this will not create any problem. If you are an angle trader, then you should go back 50 years in history and buy yourself printouts of EOD charts.
By the way, the size of your chart can independent from the size of your monitor. Just buy 3 or 6 monitors of the size you need. 3 0r 6 is most ergonomical as you have a symmetrical configuration allowing you to have the main charts in front of you, and auxiliary information on the left and right side.
You are right, I remember our teacher, who was a famous chartist, telling us about his rooms full of charts. He said the best chartists still use these angle methods - but I guess we will never find out. It seems to me that you dont need angles charting, rather you can find a strategy with various other indicators if you carefully study them in specific situations. Would you agree??
btw. thank you for the tip. I have had two monitors earlier and it wasnt right somehow. the ergonomy makes sense. To plug three computers, I guess this is only a matter of graphic card?
If your motherboard supports it, then you can replace the graphics adapter of your PC to allow to connect 3 monitors.
I personally use a HP z210 workstation with two cheap graphics adapters, to which I can connect 4 24'' monitors. The graphic adapters are passively cooled and are not suited for gamers, but they have a low energy consumption. I am not doing video games here.
Hi Torroray, unfortunately I cant now, but I will once I get the monitors set. You think there could be some difference? I want to trade with three charts open per commodity and I monitor two commodities. So its six charts per monitor. I am also hoping to find a platform, where these screens can be neatly arranged on the screen, in the FX market, I loved FXCM platform.
