Hi
I posted a small[https://nexusfi.com/free_downloads/vip_elite_circle/556-download.html?view] indicator[/URL] in the sharing section and would like to upgrade it to NT7.

Everything works EXCEPT for 2 things

1.An error gets reported when you try and save default settings in the indicator dialogue box.
The error refers to serialization.
I have checked and re checked things but I can't see where the problem is.

2. Onmost instruments (US Stocks) the horizontal offset doesn't move the text horizontally.
Works on Dax 03-10 future absolutely fine but not ES or YM??
If one of the more advanced coders could perhaps correct it / point me in the right direction and then I can update the post.?

I am not an expert for C#, but this might help:

The serialization error refers to <txtfont>. You have declared this public, if you declare it private the serialization should work. I do not understand the other problem though.

I must have spent hours trying to work out what wasn't serializing.

For the offset problem, try using Hoffset * TickSize instead of just Hoffset.

Tried that already - I think it's to do with the function GetXByBarIdx .
I have never been entirely happy working with it.
But as it's 'unsupported' by NT I am kind of stuck. I assume that I am taking the Current bar and adding .....

As I was writing this it popped into my head
it's
ChartControl.BarSpace/2 * Hoffset;
Hurrah! Seems to work anyway!

My secret: I just had a look at the trace file. System.InvalidOperationException: 'System.Drawing.Font' cannot be serialized. From there it was really easy to find the problem....

Yes, I know I looked there - must have just missed it???

As it turned out there were also minor logic and plot errors.

Anyway the indicator is all done now - I will run it the rest of today and provided no other issues I will post it in the sharing section tomorrow.

I have upgraded it again so it's a little more useful still.
