Checked out the forum after watching, entering and compiling a "Big Mike" strategy for NinjaTrader on YouTube. It wasn't as smooth as I thought it would be!

I want to get much more familiar with NinjaScripting and learn the pros and limitations. I've been investing/trading for a long time (unfortunately I'm not wealthy) so I'm still looking to improve. Typical faults, I have been able to determine good approaches but I don't follow them!

Started long ago with the DOS version of MetaStock and still own the program. Wrote many system testing strategies and learned the dangers of curve fitting pretty quickly. Tough to write code which will do the logical and capture the necessary discretionary aspect - at least I've had trouble doing it.

I'm semi-retired and hope to be able to spend time here learning and sharing ideas when the "boss" lets me!

P.S. Wasaga Beach is about an hour and a half north of Toronto and about the same parallel as Green Bay. Yeah it's cold in the winter!

Welcome @Randy55!

You're in the right place. I personally am no programmer, but there are so many great ones here, and great in more ways than one. (experience, willing to share, humble, etc)

I have yet to find anyone who consistently makes profit with a 100% automated strategy. Maybe they exist... I'll look for you to prove me wrong.

Stay warm,

Gary
