Hello,

I am wanting to change from the standard ema macd to a sma macd. I've looked around some and how ever it is done, is not right in front of me. directions to "a here's how thread" or the instructs themselves would be appreciated.

Awesome Oscillator

The Awesome Oscillator is a MACD built from a fast and a slow SMA. You can find it here:

This version of the Awesome Oscillator has the raw MACD and a signal line, but does not include the histogram.


MACD Universal

I have coded a version of the MACD, which allows to select both fast and slow moving average from 27 different moving averages, which lets you test 27 x 27 = 729 combinations.

The indicator can be found here:



Don't hesitate to come back, if you have any questions regarding the code of either of the indicators.

The chart below shows the MACD (SMA, SMA, 12, 26, 9).
