Personally I can't think of anyway that my trading would be where it is today if it wasn't for futures.io (formerly BMT). At the very beginning of my trading before joining I found futures trading to be very isolating, being in front of a computer for hours on end trying to work out the way forward in the market. But here we have a community where people offer their wisdom, insight and instruction just for the asking. It constantly amazes me with the effort that goes into maintaining this remarkable place, from Big Mike through to the programmers and all who contribute - I'm not exaggerating when I say that it has saved me thousands of dollars but even more valuable is the fact that by reading other experiences I finally know that I am on the right track and moving forward. A big thanks to all my trading family !
Astonishing level of contribution and open honesty from all who post here, a really warm place without the usual ego problems I've encountered in other places.
Has made me realize that all the years I've spent making pretty pictures on my screens hasn't got rid of many of the ugly ones that remain between my ears or how far away I still am from doing something consistently. So the real work starts now.
I don't think there were quite enough choices on the poll, but I picked the most positive and was happy to. (Would have liked to say best of what, but never mind.)
I was on a fairly narrow track in learning about the market and how to trade until I came here, by accident from something on the NT site. There is an amazing range of stuff here, and it is widening my perspective and has definitely helped my trading. (It has also confused me and changed my trading both for the better and for the worse as I tried out new ideas and changed old ones.)
I couldn't be happier with this wealth of information, perspective, and very helpful people. This is an amazing resource.
iPad spazzed out and I voted for the wrong section !
But futures.io (formerly BMT) has lead me to find some great people who are willing to not only share there knowledge with me but also willing to just be buds who can chat about non market related topics, I can't say anything bad about futures.io (formerly BMT) and can only praise @Big Mike for bringing this great community together!
Hi everyone. I've been a member for about 3 weeks, and I've already determined this is the best thing for my trading. The reason I can say that already is simply that this is the only place that one can truly communicate with and learn from actual traders. There are many, many sites out there that are helpful to traders, but the vast majority will involve some sort of sales affiliation. It's the business model. Here, I can read journals, ask questions, hopefully provide my own advice/experiences sometime in the future, etc. An added benefit are the webinars - I attended the Order Flow webinar last Saturday - it was nicely presented, and nicely moderated by BigMike (Thanks BigMike).
I look forward to learning from all of you, and sharing my experiences as well.
futures.io (formerly BMT) got me thinking outside of the box.
The random line thread really opened up my eyes
and helped me in my journey to finding a method.
futures.io (formerly BMT) was also the place that got me really focusing on risk
management as my #1 priority.
I want to test something. It's simple. Place some random lines on your chart prior to the day opening, and see if at the end of the day you feel like those lines were important (try to imagine they weren't random, but some expensive or complicated …
One of my favorite threads, which it seems to this day almost everyone completely misunderstands.
Option 1: read some books, try to understand what is being taught. No way to get questions answered or personal interaction from author.
Option 2: Learn from a vendor. Their way is the only way. Questions only allowed on vendor material, students in chatrooms only discuss winners.
Option 3: Take influences from multiple successful traders at futures.io (formerly BMT) and find your own method.
I have been a member of several forums. All of them I just couldn't handle anymore. I had journals giving the same honest trades and ideas on several of them only to get torn up by trolls. Even sharing stuff like my homework would just get bombarded. Something that makes futures.io (formerly BMT) special in my mind.
What specifically about futures.io (formerly BMT) do I like?
1) great journal section and people give solid feedback there.
2) sharing and critiquing homework, lots of interesting thoughts floating around that are based on data.
3) Webinars, they are awesome. its what drew me to futures.io (formerly BMT) in the first place.
I could go on but those are my 3 main reasons futures.io (formerly BMT) rocks.
