Dragon Boat Festival is an auspices time to buy gold - jewelry especially. Mark up premiums on the jewelry is of little concern. Not to mention that 10K people lined up to buy is a drop in the bucket among so many Chinese. The last silver I purchased was in Beijing as jewelry for my family members.
