ATM strategy without a stop loss order possible?

Yes, like a catastrophic stop set well away from volatile swings - so never touched unless we are distracted and do not take trade off on a strong opposite signal.

But would still be careful with equities that may be hit by flash-crash type HFT shenanigans. Some advocate no hard stop at all in these cases.

C'mon... the original poster is also 'Advanced' and he's asking question cos a simple 'leave stop loss field set to 0' does not work. NT demands an entry. Oddly, if you enter 0 for profit target it will accept it, but when you run ATM it still enters a stop!

Try it in SIM to verify.

Sorry, I was just guessing, I never trade without stops. That's why I said "try it in SIM" because I wasn't sure if that actually worked or not.
