A dumb qtn. Is NT7 available as a general release? Also, any issues using NT6 or NT7 on Win 7?

I just started Win7 x64 with NT 6.5.14 and applied the supplied large ram patch from the forums here: no unusual behavior seen yet, but I am experimenting with shutting down some services to cut down on network access.

NT 7 is still in private beta so there is no general release yet.

As for running it on Win7 you may notice that .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 is already installed as part of Win7 - at first look it may sound great, but... the problem starts when .Net goes bonkers and you would like to reinstal it.

I know of no method of doing so in Win7 other than to use restore point or complete system reinstallation! Yet again MS put a lot of effort to make our life "easier".

Me too except W7 x64 Home - at least NT6.5 works OK most of the time. Now and again I have frequent crashes of NT6.5 requiring clean reinstalls. I have got into the habit of running NT backup after each session - this allow me to restore rather than have to do a clean reinstall.

Interesting that when I queried NT about the crashing after I started using W7 they responded by saying NT6.5 is not recommended with W7x64.
