@Camdo, I assumed that one is using the statistic with a lot of swings in it and than it doesn't matter whether the last swing is included or not. As you know few entries in a statistic are more likely to be random. And the cost in performance of calculating the statistic in real time are in no relation to the almost non existing gain one would get from real time statistic.
I marked your chart with short explanations.
I believe to remember that I initialised the first up and down swing with the HH and HL labels for the relation. This two swings are not real and only used as references for the actual first swings, for example to calculate the swing length. I'm pretty sure that is the reason why you have two higher lows in the statistic (remember the second marked HL in the chart is not yet in the statistic).
Thanks to your questions I'll might change that in the next update to avoid confusion in the future and leave this first swings out. But the statistic values will basically don't really change.
@dorschden Thanks for all the replies.
What lead me into all of this was to understand the statistics as I could find no comprehensive explanation. I think you did a fabulous job with this indicator.
I understand your explanations of initialization and performance issues and the issues of swing counting, and in a small chart these definitely exaggerate the statistics. At least now we know why.
But, I still do not understand how the swing statistic in row "Higher Low" gets a following of 50% Lower Low (circled in the attachment)? This looks like a bug in the program.
@Camdo, You have two higher lows in the statistic. One is marked with the red side arrow which is followed by a HH and a HL. The other one in the statistic is the initialization HL swing which is not labelled in the chart. This HL is followed by the also not labelled initialization HH (the left one you circled on the chart) and the first labelled LL in the chart (the most left one).
This initialization HL and HH are not real and they are only used as reference. Like I said in the previous post I'll probably change this in the next PAS update and leave this two initialization swings out. The calculation of the statistic will then start with the first labelled swing in the chart with the delay of the two following swings to get the information about them.
@dorschden , Thank you for responding, I understand it now.
I summarized in the attached for future reference and anyone else trying to figure this out.
Hi guys , in attachment why does bars not paint off Volume? they will color when 1.Choose indication is set to trend
tried different time frames, opacity levels etc
is it possible to paint bars off of volume?
thx in advance r
edit> ok did a little reading and saw volume repaints< i have experienced this with another WW Volume indicator, so in live trading its not worth using the volume bar painting, correct?
gotcha, yes I had that part figurd out but volume bar painting was what I couldnt make paint. So the reason for not painting off volume was like I mentioned too many fake outs or repainting ,correct?
What is the logic for completion of a normal swing for a H or L point? When does the swing high or swing low becomes fixed and stop repainting in PAS (how many lower high or higher low bars after the swing high or swing low? or is it a percentage of prior swing?).
Thanks a bunch.
@Silvester17, please chime in if you like. Thanks.
the swings DO NOT repaint. the only thing that repaints is the volume.
I would think that depends on the swing size that you choose. swing size = a new swing is found when price is above or below the high or low of the last N bars and N
