I had the same experience with CGQ (through AMP and Ninja) although it was with the demo servers which are not the same as the live servers (or so I was told).
The difference between CQG and my current data feed (Rithmic) is when CGQ went down it took a couple minutes to get back up (very frustrating minutes) and with Rithmic if it goes down it usually pops right back up within 10 seconds.
Thankfully, I can count on only one hand the amount of times in the past year a Rithmic disconnect lasted longer that 10-20 seconds.
You can also call you broker and platform provider and try to troubleshoot the problem with them....if you get the same old blame it on your ISP you can try a different ISP. After all that you might then consider switching data providers.
I am using a cable connection here locally 20m down 1m up. To Chicago 5m down 2m up. After reading the NT forums one thing concerned me.
A user there stated "AMP has $100 / month subscription available that's suppose to be a more direct route to the exchange, I have to wonder if they deliberately make a weak connection to force people into a paid connection?" Connection Problems AMP / CQG - anyone - NinjaTrader Support Forum
Has anyone contacted Amp and can confirm that they are pushing this? I have not received anything from them nor have I called, yet...
