Hello Everyone-

This is my first time posting, I know little about computers, I'm new at day trading, and I'm hoping for some insight.

I use NT + Jigsaw, Pivt Pro indicator, tick indicator, and vol indicator. I have a new HP, Amd Processor sic core fx-8200, 10 G, and radeon 7570 graphics card. I only use 2 monitors. I do not trade a lot of volume. Futures only

CPU% sits at 5-8% when market is slow, 35%-40% when fast. When the market goes fast, it sounds like my computer is going to take off like a 747 jet. The fans run super hard

Do I need a better processor or do I need to install some type of cooler for the processor? Is running at 40% considered intensive? Is my computer capable? I would hate to buy another one after I just spent $700 on this one.

Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

If your indicators are not sluggish, then everything is fine - except for what is most likely an OEM/stock CPU fan, which belongs in the garbage. Ask a computer friend to buy you a good new HSF and replace it, after which it will be virtually silent. Keep in mind some replacements will require a backplate, which means you'll have to remove your motherboard to install it.

You can decide whether or not this is worth it based on confirming if you have a OEM stock fan, and then asking yourself whether or not the noise really bothers you.

Mike
