Hi
I am considering using interactive brokers in connection with kinetic to trade futures.
Is IB good for futures?
I see that it is not in the big mike awards for futures brokers.

I am sure this is dupe thread and will probably get deleted, but if you are trading only futures, then there are better and cheaper brokers. But if you want to be able to trade other types of instruments out the same account, then it's the best choice for that. BTW, if I post in your thread then there is a 78% chance it will be closed by the end of the day, so there is a chance you could get lucky.

Do a search for Interactive Brokers on NexusFi (formerly BMT) and you'll find a ton of threads.

The basic problem with IB comes down to their data, in my opinion. So I think if you use Kinetick data and IB to execute, it would be fine. I am an IB customer and have been forever.

It is true their margins are higher than others, but in my opinion anyone that is making trade decisions based on anything less than full overnight margin (set by exchange) is not making an educated decision. So I would ignore any comparisons about margin.

Mike

Thanks for the answer. the main reason for trading futures on IB, is that I also trade stock there. It would be nice to stay with one broker, so I dont need a multibroker license for Ninjatrader plus paying for two different data providers.
