I have been browsing around looking for a friendly forum to start a journal. Elitetrader has kinda been trolled out for years.

Is everyone here just daytraders, or would it be okay if I started a daily/weekly swing journal?

I can't handle more than a couple daytrades a day before my adrenaline gets too high and I can't stick to my system. Lol... What kinda works is to trade morning session, take a break for a few hours, and then trade the last two hours. Physiology in trading is a #$*#...

I am not sure whether all or most of the members are Day Traders or not. But my educated guess is 'highly likely' that most of us are. When I see the member's profile and the instruments of their picks, I guess they are day traders.

Have you tries YM instead of ES? ES is more stressful and tortures you for long to reach your target profit, I found YM is easier and lot less stressful.

Fow swing trading, I suppose you have bigger account size. If you can afford to have one like that and most trades goes to your favour, I support you to remain as swinger rather than day trader. Lot less torture! LoL....

Have a great Trade Journey pal!

I use to trade the Russel futures back in 2009, but my trading style has changed and works best with the way the S&P moves. TF loves to trend. I never cared much for the NQ! YM, Oil, metals, etc... Never bothered.

Best to just focus on getting a feel for a single instrument or two and mastering it/them IMO.

I will likely be trading more later this coming year and take a fresh look around at the different trading instruments again. Nothing has ever been as reliable as the good old ES and SPY.

Hi @MedianVelocity

Welcome on board. Looking forward to your swing trading journal.

There are many swing trading journals in the normal journal section or in elite section.
Just type "swing" in the search box and you can see them.

Here on NexusFi (formerly BMT) you will find all sort of traders - full time and part time traders using
any method to trade - BEST mixture.

I have not tried your approach. But it seems logical. I will also try to concentrate on a couple of instrument instead of playing with 4 or 5 of them.

Have a good one,
