No. X_Trader is mainly used for its DOM, its Algo Design Lab, and/or its multi-user accounting/risk control (like for fund manages, risk managers, or anyone managing OPM).

The DOM is excellent. Execution is excellent. It is not a charting platform, although they do technically have charting capabilities.

Trading Technologies now have a "TTSIM" product. While this doesn't allow you to record market data and play it back it does allow you to trade against live market data but in a simulation environment - meaning your "executed" trades aren't real. Very useful in testing algos/logic/strategies etc etc.

There are some weakness's in that you can't assess the impact your orders will have on the market, and that the simulator doesn't consider implieds your orders will create, but all in all a very nice product.

TTSIM is free to anybody that has XTrader.

TT have always had their own support forums but historically they were very sparse. With the release of ADL they have done a good job of creating/maintaining a community forum that has nearly 3000 posts all related to ADL. The forums for the other products have shown a little more life but are no where near as popular as the ADL forums. There are several TTSIM related threads in the ADL forums if you are interested.
