Is anyone using this monitor? If so, which revision do you have (A01, A02, A03...) you can get this from the serial number tag/label.
I am considering replacing my (6) Dell U2412M's (24" 1920x1200) with (4) Dell U3014's (30" 2560x1600) but have read some negative reviews regarding various bugs that they are working out with firmware updates and panel revisions, so wanted to see if anyone has direct experience with this model.
My reason for the change is to get rid of the stacked 3 wide/2 tall configuration I have now, and replace it with a more "normal" and more aesthetically pleasing 4 wide in portrait rotation without the custom monitor stand.
I previously ran five of these 24's in portrait mode side by side and liked it except for two major issues:
a) 1920x1200 means 1200px width in portrait, and I really need 1600px width to feel comfortable with web browsing
b) Again, 1200px width caused me problems when hosting webinars because many presenters use 1920px width and it was scaled down to 1200px on my monitor. It did not effect the recording it was just for me personally, it was a problem.
I think that 2560x1600 would solve these adequately since it would be 1600px width in portrait mode. And then I hope by moving to a standard 4-wide 1-tall config I will resolve the remaining random issues/problems I have with my current setup, which I think is basically not well tested in a six monitor 3x2 config (all kinds of random issues).
@Big Mike...i dont have the U3014s. I know the 2412Ms are good. I myself have quite a few of the U2410's.
Lol...over the years....my sincere thanks goes out to the guys who give reviews. Mike the U3014s do not seem to have stellar reviews as the ones listed above. You may want to consider searching dpreview especially for monitors.

I don't have U3014's but I do have 2 of the U3011's and 2 U3007's and I love them.
I'm also a big fan of the 'several very large monitors' rather than 'lots of smaller monitors' concept.
28" 4K for under $1000. I am not sure of the application of 4K for trading, but the first thought is that it is not going to be of any benefit except crisper text (like higher PPI on a tablet screen will reduce the pixelation effect) and it would also require changes by the platform most likely to get the scaling/PPI right so text is not tiny.
What interests me more is what this will do to the non-4K monitor pricing, I am hoping it would reduce it significantly as right now the U3014 monitor is priced at around $850-$1200 depending on how you purchase it. I don't need a 4K monitor, but would like to benefit from the price drop of the non-4K series.

The flagship Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD Monitor delivers stunning screen clarity and detail with Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 resolution and high pixel density on an expansive 31.5-inch screen.
31.5" screen is just under 12% larger than the 30" (29.8 viewable) but 3840x2160 has more than double the pixels of the 30" 2560x1600 - assuming I am understanding that correctly. While I like the idea of the greater resolution may be difficult to full utilize the full 3840x2160 for trading without making everything to small. LIttle expensive at $3,499 but if you qualify for business accounting on trading - maybe not so bad.
It's double pixels from a 1920x1080p monitor. The 28" is the one that is sub $1000, but yes the issue here is scaling (ie font scaling) because otherwise it would be so tiny it is worthless. I don't see much advantage to trading on this type of monitor, and several disadvantages (mainly the font scaling issue).
I'm more interested in what happens to regular non-4K monitor pricing once these hit the streets.
I also have had the 3011s (prob bought 10 over the years from dell) and they been great. I don't use very high resolution but they have worked well for me for trading and system development for many years.
