I use Linux Mint which is an Ubuntu-based distribution with TOS quite frequently.

Does the Linux Mint work well with the TOS? Are the graphics and speed better? How about reliability?

I did a TOS download for the trading platform, but the .exe file would not execute using Ubuntu. And I used Ubuntu for the download.

The Tdameritrade/Think or Swim site lists Ubuntu as compatible with the TOS platform.

Thanks HH.

There's a separate installer (thinkorswim_installer.sh) for the Linux OS.

https://mediaserver.thinkorswim.com/installer/install.html

It's the better way to install TOS on linux. If you want to install using the windows .exe version then you need to do it in Wine or other compatible layer for running windows apps on Linux.

IMO Linux Mint is more responsive and runs much faster and smoother than Ubuntu. You can use many of the same tips for installing stuff on Mint for Ubuntu.
