The "standard" CQG API is the Integrated Client one, but there is also a CQG Trader one, which can be run in "Virtual mode" so that you have just the API on your machine and not the whole CQG Trader running.
This is basically how the CQG "API installation" package works.
Did anyone try it, or the IC API? Can you share any experience?

I discovered that CQG also provides a FIX service through its Continuum division. This is expensive for market data, but cheap for order routing, it should be very efficient, as you talk directly to CQG servers without additional software. Has anyone any experience with it to share?

It's my understanding that API are no more available under CQGTrader; you need IC.
