Rollins' DMA code is very complex due to its own method of repainting so I don't doubt you are right. Any regular indicator relying on NT to connect two different plots will repaint 1 bar back.
Thanks. I didn't know that. I'll pay closer attention to see what's going on with my indicators. Is there any hope that NT7 will remedy that situation?
After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!
Not that I am aware of but who knows. MultiCharts handles it differently, it has its own method for determining colored plots based on rising/falling. Ninja would need that. If let to its current method, the two plots must connect and the last one will be repainted in order to make it connect.
The easiest way to see what is really happening is to write an indicator or strategy that draws an arrow everytime a change in direction occurs (ie no longer rising, now falling, or vice versa).
You'll see lots of arrows that aren't backed up by the colors of plots because they were repainted.
This is not the right thread to ask questions about this, but where did you get these IB ticks==4.94 ZF ticks ?
For me IB does not provide real ticks, but something like 4 snapshot/seconds, but when the market is slow, 1 IB tick == 1 ZF tick...
Sam, Thru multiple folks sending me screenshots saying "my charts don't match yours - WHY?" I took a look, counted the bars on their charts (from one time period to another) & tried to match to mine. You are correct, IB does not provide tick data, but 'computes' it (yuk!). The closest I could come, trying to match multiple charts to mine was a factor of 4.94 - 233 IB ticks (ON THE TF) seems to match to 1151 Zen-Fire. I'm planning on switching to ZenFire soon & this shouldn't be a problem (I hope) in the future.

Wiz there are a couple of little glitches I will work out after my daughter goes to bed. I think you are on the right track though. I updated the blog with my initial impressions and marked some entries and exits. 22 points today would have been nice bank right
Steelers are on soon and you know in Pittsburgh football=religion. we don't care if its preseason, fans need a warm up too I'll check in later , have a nice night guys
**** SEE UPDATED POST # 349 - dated September 3, 2009 for the LATEST HOLY GRAIL UPDATE / CHART TEMPLATE ***** AND - I've added a *NEW* indicator that helps keep you out of 'false signal' trades. If you haven't tried the HolyGrail package, I encourage you to download all the stuff at post # 353 of this thread & give it a try! I think you'll find that it's as good as some of the commercially available $3k / 4k packages out there!

Thx Wiz, I'll play with two NT, one with IB, the other one with ZenFire, for ES/YM/NQ/TF for example, and will see the differences.
But for me, we can't say 1 IB tick==4.94 ZenFire tick, because IB is sending 4 snapshots/seconds, and ZF send real ticks. So sometimes 1 ib tick==1 ZenFire tick.
ps: I'll remove these ticks questions in another post, this thread is already quite long, no need to add other subjects in it !
