I have a strategy coded out that I like and want to actually start sim testing it. Only issue is that I am having trouble actually getting Multicharts to send real orders to Interactive brokers. I have tried the search function and I don't see anyone that has code for order entries in IB. Just need to get some simple code to create the order that i can work with.

Thanks in advance.

grew,

what exactly happens when you connect MC to IB? Are the orders send at all? Is there anything under Logs or Alerts in the Order and Position Tracker window?
You can also try a build in strategy like the MA crosses, this should generate an order at IB. If not I would guess the problem is somewhere in the settings and not in your strategy code.

grew,

any other build in strategy that takes entries would work, but MovAvg Cross LE and MovAvg Cross SE with short MA settings are great to generate a lot of orders within a short time.

grew,

this is a start, now we know where to look at.

Is MC connected to Interactive Brokers? You can see this in the Trade Bar when the button next to "Interactive Brokers" is green.

Can you post screenshots from the Logs and Alerts tabs in the Order and Position Tracker. (You can find it via File->New->Order and Position Tracker Window)?

This should give insights into what is wrong with the settings.

ABCTG

Logs all i get are hundreds of the same warning of a "Fatal Error: Unknown message id."

I have no issue using the chart trader. It sends and executes orders perfectly. I would just like to fully automate the strategy.

grew,

I am afraid, but I could only guess on what could cause this error message. The fastest way for you might be to contact MC via their chat. They will probably connect to your computer via remote desktop sharing and set you up.

It would be nice to know what they tell you.
