I am in need of a computer savvy individual. I turned on my trading computer this morning, and all my files were gone. All files in my documents and downloads have disappeared. I have lost all custom indicators in Ninjatrader as well as chart templates and workspaces. I do a routine backup in ninjatrader, and those files are gone as well.

I've spent the last two hours researching this on the internet, and I tried system restore, but that didn't work. It only took be back to original settings.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I appreciate any help I am offered.

I am sorry to learn about your data loss situation. I have been there and know how it feels.

My strong advise is that until you find a proper solution from professional source or online resource etc. please do not mess up too much with the C Drive in any way. Do not do anything until you are totally sure about what you are doing. In the moment of craziness we might end up doing such stupid things which could completely remove our chances of getting the original data back.

Make an image of C drive on a separate hard drive if possible. So as to Preserve the current state as a backup. Do not copy paste or write any new data to the C drive, until you are able to recover the original data back.

There is Very High Probability that all the original data is still there on C Drive, you just need to find the right way to get it back.

If the online solutions do not seem to work, then do not take the risk, and take the hard drive to some professional data recovery vendor. It might cost some money, but if the data is "REALLY IMPORTANT" then this is a small price to pay.

Learn the lesson for future and start to make regular backups, so that if such disaster strikes again and then you are fully prepared for it.
