daily Volume on (ZN 06-14 ) and (ES 06-14) are almost identical 780 000 and 730 000 , but there is not much movement n the ZN since the open . I thought the ZN ( 10 years us treasure notes) would have good volatility like the es .

I guess its when you start expecting things that they start not to work :-)

try loading a few previous sessions and seeing if you can back validate your assumption.

good luck,

zn is like es in slow motion most of the time,

Thank you for the reply.... but for any given market how can you tell if it's good volume or not to trade that instrument.

Thank you for the reply.... but for any given market how can you tell if it's good volume or not to trade that instrument.

you can see it for yourself

each market has a typical average volumen,
millions of contracts per day
also each market can be thicker or thinner.
in the dom you can see 4000 in the dom
800
or 10 or 5
more liquidity, is better to do business, and less risky
more thicker more liquidity,
you need to find a liquidity market and a thicker market
zn and es both have vol, liq and thicker (but es is more risky than zn, because ths speed of change)

you need to open your platform and set all the markets you want to test and whatch them
daily vol
see the dom

as you are doing this questions i assume is not good to learn with high speed instrument
go away from iliquidity markets
low volume
and thinner in the dom
because they re risky

as a guide, slow, nice to learn
liquidity
zf,zn,

fast
zb
es

lessliquid/fast
cl
nq
ym

ultra fast
dax
si
gc
hg

but take in consideration the tick value

big tick value more risky
zb 31.
zn 15.6
es 12.5
nq 5
ym 5

6e is in the medium sped with 12.5tick

and micro 6e with 1.25 tick coud be a start (graph 6e ) and trade micro6e

but take in consideration that i am a super struggling trader
then you need to test for your self what i tell above

one advice
"learn first", trade later, not do the opposite
read the bmt forum a couple of month before open an account
not spend money with any trading guru
here you have tons of material

and think that this is almost imposible in a long run
and the markets/brokers/teachers wants our money

i am not say good luck

say good trainning
