Which part of momentum do you use in your setup?

I presume you have a momentum component in your setup in this discussion.

Often, in a momentum indicator, you would see momentum slowing down and then eventually momentum would flip from long to short (and vice versa) - by which it could mean the momentum number was positive and then the following bar negative. I would like to call this "momentum flip"

Momentum can also continue to be long (or short) and it will slow down or speed up. That is, momentum can remain above zero but falling or rising. I would like to call this "potential momentum flip"

Which do you use in your setup? "Momentum flip" or "Potential momentum flip"
