I tend to find that if the NQ breaks out then the rest of the equities tend to follow. The YM is also a good barometer - so in moments of indecision I look to see what the NQ and YM are doing. If the ES is lagging I know that it will follow sooner rather than later.

wow, thanks so much for the quick response. i don't know how i missed it in the elite section. i've been recording market internals for six months to use with market replay but the code i had was freezing and didn't show the wicks (live, too). your secondseriesindicator beta code was much cleaner but only a line plot. anyway, exactly what i needed. again, thanks so much.
