Using for what, charts, DOM, backtests, ... ?
For backtest/optimisation, and for DOM, it works fine for me (for now...), but have some issues with charting.
Anyway, it's a Beta, so paper account and no cash trading with NT7, too risky imho.

If I switched from 6.5 to 7 it would be to use it for charting only. I would trade both real money and paper. Thanks for you opinion

I think 7 beta 16 is fantastic. Have yet to make a live trade, but have with previous betas.

Check out my thread? Price, Volume & the DOM to see today's trading in the Skype Room

May make my 1st live trade with 16 today if the setup is really good. One contract, with my brokers' trade desk on speed dial.

I have been using the NT7 since Jan and generally it has been fine. You can load both on the same computer, so you can load it up and see how it works. Before you make the leap, just make a list of everything you do in 6.5 and then go thru each of those features in NT7 to make sure it does what you want. This includes chart types, indicators, strategies, back tests, trade logging, etc.

I have made trades with and without ATM strats. Now, I have seen some strange behavior when switching between an ATM strat and full discretionary, but I suspect this is actually a Ninja-ism (another name for a deep design flaw that most of us would call a bug, but Ninja calls a feature) instead of a NT7 specific issue.

So, if you know what you need and try it out, then you should be good to go.

One final note, once you make the jump, be very careful switching between each new beta version. They have had some disastrous upgrade issues, and of course they say to reinstall as it is beta (which is fair, but you should consider this before making the jump).

I have posted a bunch of stuff to worry about when making the jump.

This one describes all the stuff myself and other forum members went through to get 7 working.

Also in my Journal I give hints for porting over to 7, but you will have to dig a little.

Thanks everyone for your opinions.

I think I'll download 7 and run it when I'm not trading $$, see how I like it

Use NT7 for charting ONLY, until it is declared STABLE.

I'm comfortable with using NT7beta16/IQ-Feed for ONLY charting on my LIVE trading. I currently use TransActAT platform for my LIVE and SIM trading.
