I got this formula downloaded but the values are not correct. Are you sure this was written for the .Net version of Multicharts and not the regular Powerlanguage version.
If it is for the regular version I can get that version of Multicharts and still use the study, I just need to know which version it was written for.
here are 2 charts...one shows camarilla pivots which I know are correct and the other from Multicharts.
It may not be real clear here but none of the pivot values match up. Also it is not possible to make any adjustments to the colors or to select which pivots to view, it always shows all of the pivots in the original colors.
I don't know how to fix it using script editor, will appreciate your help.
It was written for MultiCharts .NET. I can also make one for PowerLanguage, if you want.
I used the formula provided by you, and provided a link to an online source that verified the output. If you want to use another formula, I can add that, but can you share how the 'correct' calculation formula is?
Perhaps there is a difference in how the closing price is determined. Do you know what the other version you mention uses as closing price? The MultiCharts .NET version I posted uses the last price of the day. I'll add an input to the next version that allows specifying the closing time in the settings.
I'm not sure I understand: I have no trouble changing the colours, here there are all white:
The formulas that appear in the script appear to be correct so I am not sure where the problem is. All I did was load your file into MC.Net.
I will check to see if there is a setting somewhere that is affecting it...the final price at 4pm eastern time should be the correct closing price to use.
You are correct for some pivots and I will have to see if any of that can affect these based on how the code is written but Camarilla pivots are always calculated off of the high, low and close of the day based on regular trading hours and I mean for stocks...so from 9:30-4:00 eastern time.
You are correct...I changed the trading hours on the chart and it did change the pivot values...the pivots I was accustomed to using in Esignal did not work that way.
Thanks again for your suggestion...it was very helpful.
Attached is a new version, as mentioned in my previous post. This version has the following changes:
* Each individual plot line can be set on or off in the inputs;
* The closing time can be specified in the inputs. This way you can use a different closing time than the one on the chart (which is useful with Globex futures and FX currency pairs).
If you specify the wrong closing time, you get an error message saying how to fix it:
I've also fixed a scaling issue that occurred at the beginning of the data series.
As an example, here the Camarilla pivots are calculated on the closing price of 15:30 and only R2, R1, PP, S1, and S2 are plotted:
PS: For non-time based charts, the closing price will be an approximation when the bars do not exactly close on the closing time. That is how MultiCharts works for historical price data.
