Not sure if this is the correct forum for this but wanted to get some feedback on what I want to do for my next gen. trading system.
I run NT-7 with proprietary signals/indicators from a trading group. My DOM is with Infinity Futures (Infinity AT platform). I basically trade certain Future instruments (ES, NQ, YM).

Due to resource needs of NT and other apps I have running, my plan was to have built a gamer's spec PC server. I want to run ESX server and allocate a VM for NT (8 GB, 8 Core on Win 7 enterprise), My DOM on Win 7 4 Core, 4 GB vm, and another 4 Core/GB VM for some of my misc. apps. (trade room and chat). Then connect to all these sessions via RDP from my Mac Tower which is my current platform for trading using Fusion. Instead I will have RDPs open to each of these VMs from the Mac Tower with the ESX server running in a server room area of the house.

Thoughts? Input? Anyone else running on VM?

I have few hundreds of traders trading on VMs, and maybe 50 NexusFi (formerly BMT) users, so the quick answer is yes.
Question for you is why using Fusion as MacOS can do RDP directly?
I would suggest to check other options than ESX, but it's up to you and it will work.

Maybe my post was a bit confusing. ESXI is where I want to attempt to go. Currently I am only on the mac and to run windows 7 to support NT-7 I have the VM running under fusion. So no way to RDP to a windows machine that isn't running anywhere else. That's how it is today. The point of my post is what I was thinking of doing for the future is to setup an ESX 5.5 and run several win7 VMs as noted. That machine will be in another server room away from my ears etc. I will then using my existing mac tower to connect via RDP to those windows sessions. Make sense?
