Like I said, I use Thunderbird on my desktop but on my Surface I would prefer the have something cloud based. Do you know of a good cloud service where one can aggregate all our email accounts, that do basically everything Thunderbird does?

I haven't used Roundcube but this looks nice and I'll be trying it out, thanks for sharing.
Why don't you just use Gmail and forward everything to it? In my experience, the cost-of-ownership of running email on your own server backend has been more expensive than paying $5/month to GOOG or MSFT to take care of it for you. Just the penetration testing and minimal hardware for backups and 24/7 uptime would cost you several times of that. And the Google Calendar integration and various Gmail plugins will be missed. And Gmail is reasonably fast around the world, although I admit that 3-5 seconds of load time sounds like a lot of room for optimization. I wonder if self-hosting on a stack of SSDs would be faster ultimately.
That would be great. I am intrigued in terms of what business owners here use as far as software in their day to day operations, especially those who have to deal with customer service and marketing (like emails).
Any suggestions for the thread name?

If you are a business owner, tech guy, marketer, etc please share what software you use day to day in order to make your business more efficient. Software, apps, an other devices expand exponentially, so it is hard to keep with it all. …
I made it a good SEO title "Software Recommended for Business Owners" to help nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) to be found.
Go ahead and share. I will chime in after a few posts.
