I've seen recently reference to bar pivot price (in few places) but couldn't find any definition of what price is it refering to. My hunch is that it is refering to (O+H+L+C)/4 but looking for some confirmation - can anyone confirm that?

It looks like the formula of the Shannon entropy for probability measures.

What are you going to do with it?

Well spotted!

I have a few heuristics algorithms for which I've found Shannon entropy to be a very good measure to validate their use.

In a way you could say I backtest heuristics algorithms with Shannon entropy.

I don't understand how you do it. Would you be willing to explain the details?

Sure, when time allows I'll write some explanation here.
