I want to be able to use my USB like another computer drive whereby I can download market data to it at work and view the new information on amibroker as I would on my home computer but I don't want to actually load the program ONTO the computer, just run it from the USB so when I unplug the USB there is no files to delete from the computer.
Any idea how this is done? I tried copying the whole Amibroker folder from C drive and onto the USB and then download data to the folder I would download to if it were on my computer.

AmiBroker is portable. https://www.yahoo.com/

You have not explained what you mean by "download data to the folder I would download to if it were on my computer."

What is your data source?? Do you use real-time plug-in, Microsoft OLE import, or manual import?

If you use OLE (Microsoft technology) then read this comment by Tomasz J.

Hello,

No, because UI settings are stored inside HKEY_CURRENT_USER - the key that is writable without admin rights.

There is only one limitation with regards to running AB without installation (from flash) - OLE server would not
be properly registered (as it needs HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT write access) and you won't be able to use
functionality that requires OLE to function. To "fix" this you need to run AmiBroker at least ONCE with full admin rights.

Best regards,

As for speed of flash drives read https://www.yahoo.com/

Ok. Thanks for the info.
I mean I'd download the new data into the same path in Amibroker on the USB as I would use on computer except for the C drive would then be an E drive.

Yeah, but what is the source?? Also you haven't mentioned any problem in your first post.
