Hello,I Have added the supertrend u11 indicator in my ninja trader 7 chart.the arrows are ok, but the sound alert doesn't work.
I have unzipped the sound files (NewUpTrend, NewDownTrend, and so on) in the sound folder of NT 7 and I have activated the SOund alert Active field in the anasupertrend u11 settings dialog box, but I don't listen any sound.
What is the problem?

The anaSuperTrendU11 indicator requires 4 sound files to work properly. Which of the sound files is used depends on the settings that you have selected.



The settings that affect the use of the sound files are ReverseIntraBar and CalculateOnBarClose:

1a) Reverse intra-bar = false (default setting)

The trend only reverses if a close is detected beyond the stopline. If the stopline is only breached intra-bar, no reversal is triggered.

1b) Reverse intra-bar = true

The trend reverses as soon as the first tick is detect beyond the stopline. A low below the stop would reverse a long position to a short position, while a high above the stop would close an existing short position.

2a) Calculate on bar close = true (default setting)

The indicator calculates only once, after the bar has closed.


2b) Calculate on bar close = false

The indicator recalculates with every incoming tick, when connected to real-time data.


There are 4 different cases to consider

By combining the settings from "Reverse intra-bar" and "Calculate on bar close" you will obtain 4 different cases. The question is for which of these cases the signals are final, and for which they are preliminary.

1. Calculate on bar close = true + Reverse intra-bar = false -> all alerts are final, as the indicator is only being calculated once
2. Calculate on bar close = true + Reverse intra-bar = true -> all alerts are final, as the indicator is only being calculated once
3. Calculate on bar close = false + Reverse intra-bar = true -> all alerts are final, as the reversal is triggered with the first tick beyond the stop line
4. Calculate on bar close = false + Reverse intra-bar = false -> all alerts are preliminary, because a bar close shown beyond the stop line is preliminary, as the bar is still ticking up and down


Therefore when you set the indicator to COBC = false and Reverse intra-bar = false, you will get an alert as soon as the bar breaches the stop line. However, this signal is preliminary, and you will need to wait until the final bar close confirms it.

The indicator uses a different sound file to generate the preliminary signal, and maybe you have not installed it. You will find details in your log file under Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> log

I am having this same issue. I have the "sound alerts active" set to true. I had imported the zip file into Ninja. There wasn't a folder for sounds, so I created one, then unzipped the sound files into that folder. I am assuming that somewhere/somehow I have to point the indicator to this folder? Thanks for any further input.

The sound folder for NinjaTrader should be found at this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\sounds.
Try placing the sound files in this folder and I think you will find it works !!

Thanks for helping Aregon! That is what is weird. I had upgraded to windows 10, and re-installed ninjatrader. It isn't installed in that folder at all! I looked under c:\programfiles(86) as well as just c:\programfiles.

When I searched the computer, I found that it installed it to: c:\users\username\documents\ninjatrader7

That is where I placed a folder named "sounds". I believe windows 10 placed the entire application there as it has all of the folders, ie export, import, log, templates, workspaces etc....

I'm still using Windows 7 so I can't help with folder location in Windows 10.
There should be no need to create your own Sound Folder in NinjaTrader
I was thinking another approach would be to search for sound files that are used by another indicator in NinjaTrader.
Try searching for ConectionLost.wav on your hard drive.
Otherwise jump on the NinjaTrader Forum and ask where the Sound Folder is located when using Windows 10.

lol boy do I feel silly now! Thanks again Aregon. I had forgotten that when I built my computer, I had installed a second hard drive! Your trick worked, I have the folder! Thank you. I will get those files into there, and now my problem should be solved!

I have downloaded both Super Trend versions from LT but neither have any sound files included. Where could I get these?

The sound files should be located in the Supertrend u11 zip file.
In case you can't find them there, I have zipped them for you !!
